3 Gift Ideas for Your Newlywed Friends This Holiday Season

We celebrated such a beautiful wedding season, and are enjoying the first glimpse into engagement season! Around the holidays, and after all the wedding guest hype has settled down, we love seeing our friends and family say “yes,” and seeing how our newlywed friends are celebrating their first holidays together.

Even though we all had to snag the best gifts for the wedding season, the gift giving doesn’t stop there! Whether you’re sending a belated wedding gift or buying your BFF something for her and her hubby’s first Christmas, here are some tips for buying for your newlywed friends this holiday season.

First, shop the registry. There are likely to be some leftover items that the couple didn’t get before the wedding, and they’d be thrilled to open them Christmas day!

Don’t worry, newlyweds, it’s okay if you don’t get everything you want from your registry. Many registries offer discounts off of the items left on your list. For example, if you register with the modern online registry Zola, you receive a 10% completion discount for up to a year after the wedding!

Make it personal. Around the holidays, we like to let our friends know that we’re thinking of them and didn’t just purchase them a generic gift. A great way to give a thoughtful gift is to add a monogram or maybe the couple’s new last name! Some great ideas would be Mr. and Mrs. mugs for their hot cocoa or new luggage tags for their honeymoon.

Buy something for their first holiday together! Even though the couple has been together, and even living together, for a long time, it’s always a special moment to spend your first holiday as a married couple. A thoughtful idea would be to get their wedding photos turned into an ornament so they can remember their special day every Christmas! There is a company that will replicate the couple’s wedding cake into an ornament! You can also gift a cookbook or new dishes for the couple that loves to host!
