Newlywed Game Questions & Fun Wedding Printables

Newlywed Game Questions & Fun Wedding Printables

The game show titled “The Newlywed Game” inspired the fun trivia game of the same name. This cute activity puts the newlywed couple to the test, quizzing them on how well they know each other. When played at a wedding party, the game gives guests a glimpse down memory lane as the couple recounts their favorite moments and shows off their knowledge of one another. Play the Newlywed Game at a wedding shower or even an engagement party with the step-by-step guide we’ve compiled below.

Step 1: Make Sure the Couple is Up for the Challenge

Since the questions could potentially reveal personal information in front of their wedding guests, it’s important to ensure that they are comfortable with the game and its potential questions.

Step 2: Gather Intel from the Couple

Once the couple has consented to participate in the Newlywed game, send them the questions you want them to answer in advance so you have plenty of time to put the questionnaire together prior to the event. We’ve compiled 90 questions that you can use for inspiration! Make sure to remind them not to discuss the questions and keep their responses confidential.

Step 3: Designate Your Emcee

One of the most important parts of a successful game show is an entertaining host! Try to find a host who will be good at explaining the rules, asking tough questions and is comfortable cracking jokes!

Step 4: Start Playing and Keep Score

It’s time to jump into the game! Pass out fill-in-the-blank cards to keep score for each newlywed. The questionnaire will ask them facts about their partner for which they want to correctly guess the response of their opposite. Each correct answer is worth one point, and the partner who has the most points at the end of the game is the winner!

The Newlywed game works for both in-person and virtual events with just a few adjustments over Zoom. This game is just one of the many forms of entertainment to have a fun and engaging party. Ready to play? Download the printable scorecards below.

For even more wedding party entertainment, we’ve compiled three more games below. Print them out for endless fun with your guests on your big day.

Never Have I Ever: Use these paddle printouts for a fun addition to this classic game. Ask the couple questions on what they have or haven’t done, and they’ll have to show the corresponding side of the paddle to answer.

Fictional Couples Guessing Game: Test your knowledge of iconic couples! One player draws a card without looking and, while holding it up for the guests to see, must try to guess the couple with a series of yes or no questions.
